What We Do

We dream alongside the children of Roodewal as they are equipped to live purposeful lives, instilling in them hope for the future!

The Nehemiah Club

Every weekday afternoon, children aged 7 to 18 come together after school for homework help, mentorship, sport, and a safe place to belong. Boys and girls meet in their own groups, but it’s one program, one team, one mission.

Our Approach

Before children face the challenges of their community, we want to see them grow into men and women of great character, self-confidence, and responsibility: rooted in a genuine, personal relationship with Jesus.

That means more than mentorship. We teach practical life skills: personal hygiene, healthy living, and the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. We give honest guidance on responsible choices, working to prevent teenage pregnancy and the spread of HIV. And within our own staff families, we try to live out healthy relationships and loving households, so the values aren’t just spoken, they’re shown.

Our Goal

  • Make Jesus known and help children grow in their faith
  • Build relationships through ongoing, consistent connection
  • Be role models
  • Equip future leaders to live purpose-filled lives
  • Prevent early school drop out
  • Give hope for the future
